WORK OUT UPDATE

Good morning, All!  Just a quick post this morning to say I have worked out two mornings this week! I'd say that's not too bad for a newb at the 5:30 am hour.  Also, my sweet hubs surprised me with a new album I've been wanting, the Imagine Dragons Night Visions which made a great addition to my workout playlist this morning! 


A good workout playlist is essential for me.  What are some of your favorite artists to work out to?  

Also, have you tried, My Fitness Pal app??  It's my new favorite thing.  It makes for super easy calorie and exercise tracking.  You can scan your food and it'll find it and pull up the serving amount and calories!! 


Awesome, right?

And I'm going to take a pole, would you guys like to see a before and after picture?  Do you find that motivating or gross?  I have to admit, I'm extremely nervous to take a before and post it on here but I also want this journey to be helpful to others so please give me your input!

THAT PESKY PROBLEM....WEIGHT

Today is kind of a big deal.  Not only did I go to the gym but I went this morning!  I went at 5:30.  And can I just go ahead and give kudos to those that are already early morning workout pioneers.  Whew!


Anyways, I'm posting my first gym visit because it really is a big deal.  I have been sedentary for the better part of 6 months and over the last few months I have gain twenty plus pounds.  (Yeah, I know...right before swimsuit season.)  Why didn't I realize this sooner?  But never the less I've decided somethings gotta give.    

So, I am trying to make a few lifestyle changes to help decrease the number on the scale.  I know I can't do anything too drastic right now because I'm in school 40 hours a week and I won't stick to it at this point in life.  But I figured I can add working out back into my routine and start watching the amount of food I intake.  So I'm starting small.  My goal is to go to the gym four mornings out of the week and do some cardio and weights while I'm there.  And to stop eating out at school for lunch (which saddens me greatly but I can't resist things like Panera Breads large creamy mac 'n' cheese).  Instead I'm going to bring Lean Cuisines for lunch because they are easy along with two cookies to meet that nagging sweet tooth that always rears its head after every meal.  And simply eat smaller portions at dinner.

But that brings me to breakfast.  I'll continue to have my morning coffee but I don't love breakfast foods.  What are your go to breakfast items that are low in calories but keep you full for the morning??

Anyways, I figured what better way to get back into blogging than to share my struggle with you and have you all hold me accountable?!  Sound good?  Hope so. =)

If you have any tips, tricks or suggestions as I begin this journey please let me know!  I'm hoping to be brave enough to take a before picture and then eventually post it with an after picture when that pesky weight is gone!

THANKS

Not really even sure how to begin this post...it's clearly been a while (almost two months if you're counting) since my last post.  But I honestly miss you guys.  I miss the community of blogging and the encouragement we give one another in our daily lives.  Yes, life has been busy with school and countless other things but all of our lives are busy with countless other things.  So I guess I'm mainly posting today to say I honestly appreciate you.  The readers and friends that have continued to check my blog to see if I've posted, the instagram likes and comments and the tweets of encouragement and wishes for me to blog again.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You have encouraged me and reminded me that blogging is suppose to be fun, interactive and most importantly a community that you can count on.  Posts don't have to be spectacular or inventive or creative.  They can be honest, vulnerable and humbling.

So here's to blogging and finding the time to post about life, school, any random DIYs or makeup favs or hair trends and styles.  And thanks again for not abandoning me.  It means so much!

DIY: GOLD GLITTER VASE

I don't know about you but I have been obsessed with all things gold, especially gold, sparkly glitter.  I love a good gold necklace, gold earrings, gold watches, gold rings, gold nail polish and for today's post, gold vases.

This is another extremely simple DIY that instantly spices up any space.  Are you ready?  Here we go.
