DIY: Polka Dot Coffee Mug Project

Many of you read this post about making the beloved sharpie coffee mugs that we've all coveted on Pinterest.  Well, I have some news for you...they failed.  They did not withstand the usability test.  They would make great decorative pieces for your kitchen but I do not recommend them for actually daily use.

With that said, I immediately wanted to find another coffee mug project that would work and withstand the test of being my daily coffee mug and not just a pretty decoration.

So today I bring you the polka dot (paint pen sharpie) coffee mug project.  This mug withstood being put in the dishwasher!!  I think we've found our winner.

All you need: plain white mug, gold paint pen sharpie and an oven

This is such a simple project.  You simply obtain the supplies, paint circles on the mugs (or whatever pattern suits your fancy) then bake in an oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and allow to cool in the oven.

Easy, right?  And look at this beauty of a mug?  If you weren't a coffee addict before now, welcome to the club!

Go try it out and tweet me your results or any questions you may have @mypolishedside.

Linking up with Carly and Molly today.
