Letting Peace Rule My Heart

I often wrestle with discontentment and forget who I am in Christ.  These verses in Colossians reminded me this morning of who I am and what I am called to do.

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (3:12)

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." (3:15)

"And whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (3:17)

I, Lauren, am dearly loved and I am called to love my neighbor and do everything for the glory of God.  But what resonated with me most this morning is, I am called to let peace rule my heart.  This morning I want to encourage myself and you to live in a life of peace.  Peace that God is greater than any trial we will ever face.  Peace that his love is more abundant than any fear or despair we will encounter.  Peace that God's plan is more detailed and perfect than anything we could have ever come up with.  Rest in peace.  Rest in God's truth.  And remember we are God's chosen people, holy and blameless.  All thanks to the sinless life, sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Rest in his love, grace and mercy for you today.
